The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards are an annual celebration of New Zealand music, recognising note-worthy Kiwi artists.
For the 2012 VNZMAs, we moved away from the illustration-based, literal interpretations of previous campaigns.
Instead, we created a glamorous ‘high fashion’ editorial aesthetic. Highly conceptual and abstract in its interpretation, each image used the human body as a landscape to portray the individual award categories.
Using 3D mapping and motion graphics (both relatively under-utilised at that time) resulted in a compelling enterprise of visual depth, providing a refreshingly unique resolution for this project.
